Exploring the incredible collection of recipes in Gather with Grace will remind you of “coming home.” Rarely does a cookbook make your heart warm and your mouth water at the same time. There are favorites on every page to welcome you!
Would you prefer ham and cheese strata or hot cinnamon roll pancakes for breakfast? Perhaps for lunch you’d like to enjoy a tasty bowl of Italian vegetable soup. Can you smell your favorite best ever pepper steak simmering on the stove accompanied by Lea’s oven fried potatoes, seven-layered salad and a fluffy dinner roll? And, for that perfect meal-ending, what about a slice (or two) of toll house pie topped with home made vanilla ice cream; or if you prefer, a dish of luscious colossal caramel apple trifle! Homesick yet? That’s what we’re hoping for!
The committee has attempted to make Gather with Grace a generational cookbook – remembering our past, touching our present, while shaping our future. Our children and grandchildren represent generations to come. We want them to know there will always be a welcome sign over the door and their favorite meal waiting.
Opening our home to guests is a beautiful way to share the warmth of God’s love and grace. The Scriptures remind us to be hospitable to one another without grumbling (1 Peter 4:9-10). A meal together is one of the most intimate and sacred of human events. Around the table we become “one.” Differences of opinion often diminish as we share God’s blessings.
Our prayer is that as you “break bread together,” Jesus will always be an invited guest at your table of grace. Give thanks for His bountiful blessings!
