This is the author's third book, recording the lifestyles and values of the past from her perspective, in an effort to preserve those memories. Older folks have had their own memories jogged by her stories. Although she writes with sentiment and affection, she is careful to include the hard times. She wants younger folks to know how their ancestors lived, and what they cared about.
